National Officer Candidate Information

Planning on running for national office? Please be sure to review the information below on national officer elections.

   3.       Understand the national officer election process by using the
            2009 Step-by-Step Guide to National Election Process Guidebook(.pdf) 
 

 

 4.         Candidates must complete the 2009 National Officer Candidate Application  and mail to national headquarters by postmark date May 15.  

***Please note the Resume must be 1 page in length as it was not indicated on the application. 

Candidates must review the below important dates not included in the application, but needed for NOC support from administration, chapter adviser, and state adviser: 

                    -   Board of Directors Meeting – September 27-30, 2009


                  -   USA Phase II – September 30-October 3, 2009                      

            **There has been a change to the NEC dates for the 2010 January Meeting,

5.               National Officer Candidates and advisers must to read the entire combined 2009-2010 National Executive Council/Adviser Handbook in order to run for office.  

6.               National Officer Candidates must reference the 2009 National Officer Candidate Speech Topic:  FCCLA has the capability to develop great leaders in our homes, careers, and communities.  How has FCCLA helped you define the meaning of “Beyond the Label” as a leader?

(Beyond the Label is the 2009 National Leadership Conference theme, the meaning of the theme is as we celebrate our tenth year in the transformation from being the Future Homemakers of America to becoming Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, members continue to put their motivation in motion by moving beyond the label, past misconceptions, and to the core of what makes FCCLA a strong and dynamic student-led organization.)                    

7.               NEW this year! National Officer Candidate Test:  The test will be administered at the 2009 National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee prior to the National Officer Candidate Orientation.  Check back for more information regarding a study guide.

8.               National Officer Candidate and Adviser (NOC/A) tentative agendas at the 2009 National Leadership Conference:

9.              National Officer Candidates, advisers, and state advisers should review the election information posted in the December Election Release.  The release includes information on the National Officer Candidate Information.   
 

Voting Delegate Information

Opportunities

Bank of America Student Leadership Program

Members can make a difference in their community by applying to be a Bank of America student leader.  Juniors and seniors in high school are eligible for an eight-week paid internship and week-long summit in Washington, D.C.   Applications for the Neighborhood Excellence Student Leaders awards are accepted January 1, 2009 through February 20, 2009 (11:00 p.m. EST).  For more information, visit the Bank of America website.
